Ever since I got laid off from a Silicon Valley corporate job five years ago, I loved being my own boss at a cell phone store here in Livermore. The commute was only a few miles and the hours were shorter, even though I worked six days a week. When we expanded our business by opening another store in Dublin, h*ll broke lose. I did not anticipate so many employee related problems – employees not showing up for work, being late, stealing, lying,, etc, etc. The new store lost money right away, which I was anticipating, but I did not foresee that it still would lose money today, three years after the ‘expansion.’
To make long story short, we went from middle income family to no income family.
We have not given up yet. I know there is a flicker of hope out there somewhere. After maxing out all home equity line of credit and credit cards, I am desperate, and the situation is not getting any better during this economy.
Here’s my proposal to all you members. You buy and activate a new T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint cell phone from me, and I’ll offer $50 to the church; buy any new MetroPCS phone, and I’ll offer $10; buy any accessory over $18.39 and I’ll offer $5.
I was crying silently when I saw the slides of those kids seeing and drinking fresh water first time (7/19/08 service), thanks to the church’s generosity. I still can’t believe that some people drink from the standing pond they wash their clothes with.
Anyway, enough babbling. Please help us out, and let the profit sharing offering help the rest of the world.
